Prof. Anurag SHARMA

Anurag Sharma is presently an Emeritus Professor of Optics and Photonics and Physics and has been teaching at IIT Delhi since 1980. His research has been concerned with propagation of light in imaging and waveguiding devices. He has published over 110 journal papers and over 200 conference papers. He received the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize in 1998 for his research contributions. He is a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award of IIT Delhi. He is a fellow of all the three Indian science academies (INSA, IAS and NASI) in India, the Indian National Academy of Engineering, and of Optica (USA) (formerly OSA). He has been the President of the Optical Society of India, a Vice-President of INSA and a Vice-President of NASI and is at present Chairperson of its Delhi Chapter of NASI. At IIT Delhi, he has served as Dean of Student Affairs and Dean of Academics and has been Head of the Physics Department. He has been an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at University of Karlsruhe (Germany) and Senior Associate of the International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste (Italy). He has held a Homi Bhabha Fellowship and a JC Bose Fellowship.
