DR. HIMANSHU PATHAK
Dr. H. Pathak is presently working as Secretary, DARE and Director General, ICAR, Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi. He has been associated with agricultural research and development in India and abroad for last 3 decades. His area of research and education has been soil science, climate change, environmental pollution and abiotic stress management.
Dr. H. Pathak was the Director, ICAR-National Institute of Abiotic Stress Management, Baramati, Maharashtra. Previously, he served as Director of ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack, Odisha; Principal Scientist and Professor, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi; Co-Facilitator, Rice-Wheat Consortium, New Delhi; and visiting scientist of Institute of Meteorology and Climate Research, Germany and University of Essex, United Kingdom.
He is a graduate in agriculture from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi; and completed his master’s and doctoral programme from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. He is a fellow of Indian National Science Academy; National Academy of Science, India; National Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Humboldt Foundation and also Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Awardee of Indian Council of Agriculture Research. He has published more than 200 research papers and 12 books with h-index of 74, i10-index of 228 with more than 22,000 citations. Currently he is the President of National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi.
